Participer au projet BOINC/

Je mes suis lancé, biene que la machine ne soit pas une Rolls et même soit assez limitée et que je dépende de la puissance de la connexion allouée d'ou je squatte la spot wifi, au projet de la SIMAP, un calcul sous forme de cluster international, destiné à résoudre les similitudes entre les protéïnes : http://boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap/

Bien des explications se trouvent au : http://boinc.berkeley.edu/trac/wiki/IntroUser et tant que je peux faire quelque chose afin de faire progresser et utiliser ma bécane, en LL et participer à un cluster mondial, basé sur des serveurs qui sont eux aussi sur du .nix ou .nux, je le fait:)!

Ce projet déborde un peu de la page et est autant liée au projet wikinenveut, sur le linux et les pages web, que destiné à demeurer ici, mais fait quand-même parti de wikinenfait, parce que je fais ainsi quelque chose:)!

Le problème est ensuite un gros problème de paramétrage, vu qu'il y a plusieures version du moteur et que je suis sur une machine paramétrée en 386 et non 686...! Euh, attendre de tout remonter afin d'optimiser celle-ci, puis réinstaller le projet et ses dépendances et .app:)?

'Alternative BOINC attachment procedures




Due a bug in the BOINC client 4.5 to 5.2.15, which deletes the contents in the project/$PROJECTNAME directory is a alternative attachment projecedure needed.
This bug was fixed in the boinc client 5.4.9. But these alternative attachment projecdures also guilty for the new BOINC clients.



1. Automaticly attach via the configure script


You can use the configure script, which ask you for a BOINC user and a group, attaches automaticly to the project and set all the filepermitions right.

The output from a sample run :

BOINC configure for the project boincsimap


Please enter the your boinc directory : /opt/boinc


Please specify the account key, you got mailed from the
project boincsimap (boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap)

Account key : $ENTER_YOUR_ACCOUNT_KEY_YOU_HAVE_GOT_MAILED_FROM_THE_PROJECT

Please let boinc run with a seperate boinc user and group.
It is recommended. If you have already a seperate boinc user, you
have got to specify it, too...


Add a user and group for BOINC ? [y|n] ? y

Username : boinc

Group name : boinc

Selected BOINC directory : /opt/boinc
Selected User : boinc
Selected Group ID : boinc
Add and new user for BOINC : y

Please stop your boinc client if it is running in the moment !

Should we start now the installation [y/n] ? y

Adding User : boinc and group : boinc


Attaching to the project ...

Copy the boincsimap files and set the permitions...


Configuration finished....

Now you can su to your BOINC user 'su - boinc' and start the BOINC
client with the command './boinc_client'




2. Manualy attach with the BOINC manager or BOINC client



2.1 BOINC manager with using the password


With these steps you can attach using the boinc manager to attach to the project :
- start the BOINC manager
- select Projects / Attach to project within the BOINC manager and enter all the needed values
- stop the BOINC client
- Make now a subdirectory under your BOINC directory :
mkdir $BOINCDIR/project/boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap
- Copy the needed files to the project directory and set the owner and permitions
cp simap-5.* $BOINCDIR/project/boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de_boincsimap
cp app_info.xml $BOINCDIR/project/boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de_boincsimap
chown -R $BOINCUSER:$BOINCGROUP $BOINCDIR/project/boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de_boincsimap
chmod 750 $BOINCDIR/project/boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap
chmod 550 $BOINCDIR/project/boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap/simap-5*
- Start the boinc client again :
(su - $BOINCUSER)
./boinc_client -update_project http://boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap

Now the boinc client detects the new project and will download new work.



2.2 BOINC client with using the account key


You can also attach with the BOINC manager or BOINC client to the project :

- stop the BOINC client
- start the BOINC client with the "-attach_project" option :
boinc_client -attach_project http://boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap
- Make now a subdirectory under your BOINC directory :
mkdir $BOINCDIR/project/boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap
- Copy the needed files to the project directory and set the owner and permitions

En fait le but est de mettre des machines en prod', afin d'offrir à la communauté des scientifique du temps de calcul, par internet sur divers projets, et ce de façon 'mutualisé'!

Si j'ai pas eut le temps de monter une équipe, je fait déjà ça de diverses machines:)!
